I doubt whether the Jewish community fares much better than the Church in that regard, in light of Rabbi Dr. Ari Lamm’s comments on the Biblical Mind Podcast episode linked in lesson three of this course. According to Dr. Lamm, most Jewish students are unable to distinguish between the biblical narrative and rabbinical legend. While he does explain the origins of these more fantastical interpretations and stories, this eisegesis poses the extreme danger of making the voices of latter-day rabbis much louder than those of the biblical authors.
