Reply To: Do you think the U.S. should assist in mediating negotiations toward a resolution in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict? Why or why not?

I tend to agree. To whom much is given, much is required. The appeal of isolationism is understandable given the foreign policy disasters in recent years but it is, in my view, short-sighted. Whether people like it or not, the United States is the global superpower at the moment and an entirely hands-off approach regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, is neither wise nor tenable. If the U.S. does not show leadership, who will? Someone will set the terms and in the interest of the good of the world, the U.S. should assist in such matters with both boldness and humility.
