It is indeed a good reminder that though God is flawless in character, those who have claimed His name fall spectacularly short. It is especially painful to consider the sobering truth that Anglican scholar Gerald McDermmott has pointed out, that the majority of professing Christians have been wrong about Israel and the Jews for most of their history. We have to own that. No doubt in part because of that error, the witness of the Gospel has been impeded.
