Alex, I would love to visit Syria as well. I am going to Israel next month and regret that I won’t get to see the Damascus road where Paul was converted. Sadly, Assad’s rise to power is not unlike other nations in the region who have been promised prosperity but are now realizing tyranny. I think the U.S. can play a significant diplomatic role in the region to promote peace and hopefully bring an end to the bloodshed.
