Reply To: In the first lecture, Dr. McDermott teaches that the Bible is one story, and that God upholds his covenant with the Jewish people to this very day. Was this what you were taught growing up? If not, how will this insight change the way you read the bible going forward?

Thanks for sharing, David. I definitely grew up in a pro-Israel faith tradition but never studied the issue that much. I just accepted what I was told without examining the root of the conflict for myself. I still believe that the Jews are God’s chosen people and that Israel will play a significant role in the end times. I am looking forward to going to Israel for the first time next month. I hope that I will learn more about the conflict and deepen the reality of my faith in Christ.
