Reply To: In the first lecture, Dr. McDermott teaches that the Bible is one story, and that God upholds his covenant with the Jewish people to this very day. Was this what you were taught growing up? If not, how will this insight change the way you read the bible going forward?

Hi Christina,
It’s interesting to see your unique background in different denominations and their emphasis on the “New Covenant” rather than discussing God’s original covenant with the Jewish people. It seems that your time in Israel was an eye-opening and enriching experience that helped develop your understanding of the Old Testament and how it is relevant today. I’m sure your time spent both in Israel and studying Old Testament literature and Rabi teachings has helped develop a deep appreciation for God’s covenant to His people and how it is relevant today.
