Yeah I’ve been looking for comments more along this line. I of course condone speaking up for those who are being persecuted when we see it-but opportunities to “see it,” at least where I live, are quite rare. In my case, I have never witnessed personally any active discrimination against a Jewish man or woman. In that, we can take more preventative measures to ensure such division or resentment doesn’t bleed in from external sources. Be informed ourselves of the facts, so that we can spread that in the peaceful settings of our churches and to our people groups, children most notably. Amusingly I came across a Frederick Douglass comment the other day that fits: “it’s easier to build a strong children than fix broken men.” Douglass has obviously seen persecution himself and there is certainly some overlap there: Be informed and help prevent the creep of division by passing on that information.
