I like the personal take here. As others have noted, the environment we live; the profitability of strife, the absolutism of people, the ambition of leaders, has served to foster an us versus them mentality in regards to nearly everything. It is only by having these personal conversations that we can see an argument, debate, discussion, and so on, in its proper human context rather than as a nugget headline or big picture numerical study.
