Reply To: In the first lecture, Dr. McDermott teaches that the Bible is one story, and that God upholds his covenant with the Jewish people to this very day. Was this what you were taught growing up? If not, how will this insight change the way you read the bible going forward?

David, thanks for this reflection. I’m encouraged to hear of the strength of Christianity in your country, and of your zeal for the Gospel. Your words about the covenants of God struck a chord with me: “his promises will be fulfilled whether the heavens and the earth are no longer there.” Amen! It is strange to think some believe an all-powerful God would make promises he does not intend to keep.
