Reply To: Have you ever been told that supporting Israel prevents you from supporting Palestinians? After taking this course, how would you go about responding to false accusations like this?

Yes, I have heard people say that supporting Israel means you can’t support Palestinians, but I learned that this isn’t true. You can support both!

It’s important to understand that the conflict between Israel and Palestine is complex and has a long history. It’s not just about one side being right and the other side being wrong. Both Israelis and Palestinians have a right to live in peace and security.

One way to respond to false accusations like this is to explain that supporting Israel and supporting Palestinians are not mutually exclusive. You can support Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state while also advocating for the rights of Palestinians and their right to self-determination.

By promoting dialogue, understanding, and cooperation between Israelis and Palestinians, we can work towards a peaceful and just solution to the conflict. This means listening to the perspectives of both sides and working towards a solution that benefits everyone involved.
