Hi Griffin, I like how you pointed out how Near East conflicts get oversimplified. That has certainly led Westerners to quickly form their opinions on conflicts. The course has widened my perspective on subjects that I would not have thought to consider previously as there are so many different groups and dynamics. U.S. involvement in the Near East is hard to understand completely as there are so many different factors at play. We should be sure not to insert an opinion without asking the right questions and being diligent in our research.
