Hi Sarah – found that aspect of Jewish theology very interesting too. It made me wonder if the Jews believe the Messiah will be like a glorified prophet. I think I understood on some level that Jesus’ proclamation that he was Son of God was heard as blasphemy to unbelieving Jews, but understanding that they don’t even expect the messiah to be God, made me realize how even more shocking Jesus’ declaration must have seemed.
