The idea that the coming Messiah that the Jews are expecting is and age rather than a person was new to me and left me with a lot of questions. Like how will you know that age has come? Are they expecting it to be as earth shaking as Christians anticipate Christ’s second coming to be? Also, I’d be intrigued to hear more how Modern Jews would find that teaching in the Torah. Even as far back as Genesis, the coming messiah is referred to as a man who will crush the serpent’s head. I’d be interested in learning more about how modern Jews defend that interpretation of the Torah.
